My audience is UCSB students. The students that play this game want new songs that are perfect for their UCSB experience. I’m communicating to my audience that I can do that for them.

I catered to my audience by choosing appropriate diction and feelings I let them choose from. Examples of proper diction are “Study sesh”, “I just wanna chill”, and “Turn up”. These are common phrases used by college students so I incorporated them to capture the audience's full attention. The feelings are also what a UCSB student often experiences; being with friends, studying, skating, falling in love, going to the beach, and catching the sunset.

I used Twinery to make this project. The whole process of making this was simple, tedious, and fun. I started with one passage and made links that led to other passages; the secondary passages also had links within them that led to other passages. I did this so that I could learn more about my audience to choose the perfect song for them. I made the links by clicking on my base passage, clicking the “Link” button in the toolbar, naming the new passage, and finalizing it by clicking “Add.” I then basically repeated this process about 50 times. To add more flavor I edited the text in the first passage to make it sway and shine. I did this by highlighting the text, going to the top toolbar, and choosing what I thought looked the coolest. The fun part was inputting the songs. I love music so I had no trouble with this. Most of the songs either came straight from my head or from my Spotify playlists.

This project taught me how to navigate Twine and how to communicate to an audience. Through Twine, I learned how to create hyperlinks and edit text. And through this project, I learned how to communicate by asking questions.
